Richard Abbott HBV Trustee Director & Chief Executive
Richard joined HBV as Chief Executive in 2003.  Originally qualifying in banking, he managed Eastern Bloc, Syndicated and UK High Growth start-up finance prior to branching out into SME (small/medium enterprise) development in 1990. Specialising in small business ever since, he has delivered advice, development and business rescue consultancy to start-ups and SMEs in the UK and overseas.  An ‘SME specialist’ MBA, he has managed and delivered public funded business support for enterprise support organisations and early model Business Links.  Locally, he chaired Inspire, Hackney’s Education Business Partnership for several years, and he also serves on the board of Blue Hut, a youth club in Shoreditch.

Andrew Balgarnie HBV Chair and Trustee Director
Andrew Balgarnie is a Partner of Connaught Capital Partners LLP. Andrew was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley & Co, the US investment bank, where he spent 18 years in New York, London and Moscow. Before coming to HBV he was a Trustee of Groundwork West London. Andrew is Chairman of Regents Park Cricket Club, a community cricket club for young people. He is also a volunteer RFU youth rugby referee. He was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Adrian Haxby HBV Trustee Director
Adrian Haxby is a Managing Director in UBS Investment Bank where he runs the UK Mid Cap Corporate Broking and Advisory team.  Adrian read Classics and Modern Languages at Oxford University.  He joined Price Waterhouse (now PWC) in 1981 and qualified as an ACA before moving to SG Warburg, one of the principal constituent firms today of UBS in the UK, in 1985.  He has worked in a variety or roles for UBS in London, Paris and Frankfurt with a focus on mergers & acquisitions and capital raising for listed companies.  He is a member of the UBS Community Affairs Committee and became a trustee of HBV Enterprise in 2006.

Tayebeh Kazempour HBV Trustee Director
Tayebeh Kazempour is Head of Vocational School at Hackney Community College.  She joined as a lecturer in 1992 and has since worked as a senior lecturer and Business CoVE manager. She is responsible for designing and quality assuring the provision for IT, Business, Accounts and Administration.   With over 16 years' working within education, she has developed close links with local SMEs to provide high-quality training for staff.  Tayebeh leads a team within the College who works closely with employers to offer Apprenticeships in a wide range of vocational areas. She works with a number of external partners to gain funding for education and training as well as leading on international projects.

Brian Marsh HBV Trustee Director
Brian is a former Hackney councillor, a resident representative for Hackney Homes, a lifetime trade unionist, and has been a resident of Shoreditch since 1959.  During the 20 years that he  served as a Hackney councillor, he has represented Hackney on a number of London-wide bodies (section 101), maintaining strategic functions between the GRC and the GLA.  Brian has a particular interest in transport, environmental and business development matters. “It is important to make our environment a friendlier place to live and a safer place. I want to see more community cohesion and to bridge the divide between the old and young.”

Gail Mistlin HBV Trustee Director
Gail was appointed the Director of Skyway, a charity working with disadvantaged youth in Hackney, in October 2006. Gail has a broad range of Management experience, encompassing social care and youth services in the charity and public sector.  She has worked in Hackney for a number of years in the not-for-profit sector, including a year at Learning for Growth as a Director coordinating a new East London membership organisation, and several at Workforce charity, as Assistant Chief Executive providing work-based training and support to the hardest to reach client groups in the local communities.

Grishma Parmar HBV Trustee Director
Grishma is a Senior Consultant with over 5 years corporate experience with PwC and currently working in a Financial Services Company.  She was previously a Non-Executive Director for a registered charity known as the South London Vanza Community for two years and assistant secretary for over a year.

Dipesh Santilale HBV Trustee Director
Dipesh is a senior associate in the corporate team at CMS Cameron McKenna, a leading international law firm where he has been since commencing his training as a solicitor in 2001.  He has substantial experience of acquisitions, mergers, restructurings and corporate finance transactions and has acted for a number of entrepreneurs and start-ups on initial investments, IPOs, corporate acquisitions and disposals, as well as providing ongoing corporate and commercial law advice.  Dipesh graduated from King’s College London in 2000, where he studied Law with European Legal Studies and completed a diploma in German law at the University of Heidelberg.  In addition to his work in supporting HBV, he has also been involved in a number of community and Asian organisations, organising fund-raising events and raising awareness for issues concerning young Asians within the UK, including speaking at charitable events and previously on a UK-wide Asian radio station.

David Pyatt Company Secretary
David is a retired chartered engineer, who started his career in paper research and development in 1963 with Wiggins Teape, moving on to process control projects.  In 1971 moved to Logica Ltd, a computer consultancy, mostly working on telemetry projects including the control of the national gas grid.  From 1975 directly employed by British Gas and its successors on computer and communications systems, on and off-shore, moving in 1994 to responsibility for all engineering operations in East London and the Thames corridor in Essex, finally returning to national control system projects in 1999.  Became a director of HBV Enterprise in 1996, and acted as the company secretary since 2003.
