Local people are at the heart of what we do, and we help them change their lives.
Who
Meet some of our clients in this video:
Read about other entrepreneurs that we've helped here and here.
Where
We’re a Charity based in Hackney, which is London’s poorest borough.
Why
People need a helping hand, especially in Hackney, which is also the number 2 most deprived area in the country.
How
We teach people about enterprise because it gives them new skills and better chances. They become more employable, and some go on to start and grow their own successful businesses, creating jobs along the way. We also help local people finance and grow their businesses, which stimulates the local economy.
The Social Investment we make
Over each of the last 3 years, we have on average:-
• Answered 5,593 individual enquiries
• Delivered 1,584 advice sessions
• Given 697 days of training to local people
The Social Return on Our Investment
Since starting our Finance Service, we have levered over £11.6 million of finance into local small businesses, creating and preserving 1,039 jobs.
HBV Enterprise has also helped at least 1,587 businesses to start up, and create 2,255 jobs.
Over each of the last 3 years, we have on average:-
• Supported 80 new business start ups that created 100 new jobs
• Sustained 63 further jobs that were at risk
• Since its launch in 2010, Hackney Enterprise Network has led to the confirmed growth of 54 local small businesses and the signing of a further 48 new business-to-business contracts.
