HBV Enterprise: our charging policy
High quality, independent and professional business advice costs a lot of money to deliver. So what does it all cost you, the customer?
HBV works with government funders, commercial sponsors and also generous individuals. They invest money, energy and skills into helping us to achieve our mission. This means that many of our services are free or subsidised. For example, our 'Business London' services are FREE to residents of Hackney and the City.

However, charges do vary, but we will tell you, up front, what if anything our services will cost you. This should help you to decide if you want to go ahead with any of our services. Sometimes there may be a good alternative to an HBV service offered by one of our partners either cheaper or free of charge. If so, we will tell you about it so that you have the option to take it up.

The reasons why charges can vary include :-

  • Some support services are part or 100% subsidised by our funders or sponsors.
  • Some subsidies are based on areas (e.g. post codes or London boroughs) where you live or where your businesses is (or will be) located. This can mean that we may have to charge you.
  • Some services carry a booking deposit. If you do not turn up on time for the service, you will lose your deposit.
  • HBV Enterprise Loan Funds are subject to fees and interest. Extra charges will apply to borrowers who do not repay their loans.
  • Some services, e.g. Serviced Office Units at HBV Enterprise Centre, are not subsidised. These are charged at full rates.

Where charges apply, we will accept payment by cheque, credit and debit card, and BACS payment direct to our bankers. Only small deposits may be paid in cash. Some services must be paid for by direct debit from your business bank account. Remember, we are open and honest about charging, so you can ask us a question about it at any time.
